New models for spring and upcoming events

New models for spring and upcoming events

Hey,

I try to save up these updates for days when I've got a few things to share, and today happens to be one of those days.

New maps!

I just dropped a few new maps (and a lot more color) on the site, including the San Juan Islands, Bellingham, and updated models of to Crater Lake and Mt. St. Helens. Soon to come is Mt. Shuksan featuring Mt. Baker Ski area (the final proofs & photos just weren't ready in time for this newsletter).

I spent a ton of time experimenting with the blue dye for the water layers on the new maps, especially to establish the gradient for increasing layers of depth. They look cool in photos, but I think they're even more stunning in person.

Spring Events

I've got some local events coming up in Whatcom and Skagit County, and I'll have all the new maps to show off. Please come say hello if you can.

I've got some other exciting events coming up later in the year, so stay tuned.

Northwest Avalanche Center

I'm thrilled to continue my conservation and non-profit support program for 2025 with our featured spring partner, the NW Avalanche Center. If you're a mountain-goer in the PNW, the NWAC is a critical resource for avalanche forecasts, and an important educator of mountain & backcountry safety. I'll be donating 10% of sales for the season both online and in-person to NWAC. I'll also have some of their materials available at all my events.

Next Up

I haven't decided on the the next batch of models, but likely candidates include Galbraith Mountain (just in time for mountain biking season), a St. Helens before/after eruption variant, Lake Tahoe, and possibly some ski areas in Washington, Oregon, and BC. As always, share your ideas. And there's always custom orders is you're interested.

Finally, I'm workshopping a few ideas for other form factors and products - the tree ornaments were so fun during the holidays, and I'd like to have some smaller items like that available year-round.

See you on the trails,

Jeff
