Twin Peaks, Snoqualmie, and a rare spring sale
Happy earth month! Jeff here. I've been busy in the shop and making plans for the year, and I've got a load of exciting news to share: an update on how we work with environmental groups, new maps, upcoming events and more.
We're a 1% For the Planet Member

Since the very beginning, I made it our mission to directly support conservation, advocacy, and environmental stewardship efforts. Over the last two years we've donated thousands of dollars to groups like the Washington Trails Association, the Northwest Avalanche Council, Whatcom Mountain Biking Coalition.
The work of these organizations is more vital then ever, which is why we've joined One Percent for the Planet to help scale our conservation program. They're a worldwide network of like-minded businesses committing to support local, regional and national orgs doing important environmental work.
Being a part of this network will make it easier for us to organize our giving, and even start directing sales for a particular map or region to a relevant regional org.
We'll continue to partner with specific groups, especially for events, and despite the "One Percent for the Planet" name, we'll continue to give back 10% or more of our sales through this new program.
Clearance sale on acrylic glazed frames
Early on, I felt like my framed maps needed an acrylic cover, more out of habit from building picture frames.
But I've never loved using so much plastic in my work, and I've realized the acrylic cover on my framed maps isn't needed anymore. The maps are already sturdy and protected with a natural oil finish. And with no glazing, you can see the features and texture of the maps better. Not to mention less glare and scratches to worry about.
Starting today, I've phased out acrylic covers entirely from my framed map collection.
This means I have a small assortment of maps in the previous generation frames with acrylic that I need to clear out, so I'm offering a 25% off sale on all these items.
New Map: Snoqualmie Valley
I grew up near Snoqualmie Valley and spent a lot of time hiking the mountains around the area. Mt. Washington and its view of the Cedar River Watershed are a particular favorite. It's no wonder this area is such a popular destination for day hikers in the greater Seattle area.

New Map: Twin Peaks
I must confess...half the reason I made Snoqualmie Valley was as an excuse to make it's alternate dimension version overlaid with the features of the town of Twin Peaks. I spent a lot of time trying to get as much label detail into this one as possible, and making the features make sense in relation to each other.
It's tricky when the fictional town layout is different than the place it was shot in - I had to take some creative liberties, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
Upcoming Events
I'm pleased to return to Mt. Vernon for Valley Made on April 26 (and again in July and September).
I'll be at to Seattle for Renegade Craft for May 30-31.
And I'm thrilled to host another pop up shop at the Portal Container Village in Bellingham from June 17-29.
As my event calendar fills out, I'll share more here and on IG.
Hope to see you at one of these future events!
Jeff
